NRW Events Calendar 2026

Every year workplaces, schools, early learning services, community groups, reconciliation groups, and people right across the country host a range of activities and events during National Reconciliation Week (NRW).

The dates for NRW are the same each year: 27 May to 3 June. Look through the calendar to see how you can mark NRW at an event near you.

Coolamon cultural workshop with Aunty Jude Hammond Saturday

Create your own coolamon inspired by the pop-up exhibition From Little Things, Big Things GROW: From Nambour to Canberra.

In this this special Reconciliation Week creative workshop led by Gunggari and Kamilaroi elder Aunty Jude Hammond, participants will learn about the cultural significance of the coolamon and symbols in First Nations art.

Guided by Aunty Jude, you will then create your own coolamon, developing meaningful symbols and markings that express your identity.

This workshop is suitable for all ages and encourages intergenerational learning and sharing.

About Aunty Jude
Gunggari and Kamilaroi elder Aunty Jude Hammond is a passionate First Nations artist and cultural and arts facilitator. Working in collaboration with Traditional Custodians, she champions projects that promote peer-to-peer and cross-cultural sharing, as well as providing
opportunities for First Nations young people to showcase their skills and talents.
