Local Government Truth-Telling Workshops Report

Between July and September 2019, 130 participants from local councils and organisations discussed the importance of truth-telling and Local Councils’ role in truth-telling.

This report combines information from the three workshops in New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.

Each workshop considered:

  • The concept and importance of truth-telling;
  • The challenges and opportunities for local governments supporting localised truth-telling; and,
  • The supports councils/communities need to engage in and drive localised truth-telling.

This report provides a summary of the themes and issues from the workshops, and includes discussion from the 2018 Truth-Telling Symposium relevant to local level truth-telling.
