NRW Events Calendar 2026

Every year workplaces, schools, early learning services, community groups, reconciliation groups, and people right across the country host a range of activities and events during National Reconciliation Week (NRW).

The dates for NRW are the same each year: 27 May to 3 June. Look through the calendar to see how you can mark NRW at an event near you.

Hosting your own NRW event? Head to the Events page to add it to the calendar.

Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Walking Together in Action

May 28 @ 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm UTC+10

A 4-hour interactive Aboriginal Cultural Awareness workshop during National Reconciliation Week, involving practical role play and role modelling scenarios to improve engagement and relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.

Facilitated by a First Nations’ leader within a culturally safe and inclusive space, this workshop applies knowledge, theory and concepts of Aboriginal experiences and perspectives into scenarios and exercises that participants can use in real life today. Some knowledge of Aboriginal history and culture is advantageous, but not essential.

Topics include:
– How to engage, communicate and work with Aboriginal people including cultural protocols
– Understanding micro aggressions and unconscious bias
– Respecting significant sites and heritage areas
– Understanding cultural safety and how to work towards it
– Sources and solutions to racism
– Awareness of white privilege and white fragility.
