Every year workplaces, schools, early learning services, community groups, reconciliation groups, and people right across the country host a range of activities and events during National Reconciliation Week (NRW).
The dates for NRW are the same each year: 27 May to 3 June. Look through the calendar to see how you can mark NRW at an event near you.
Hosting your own NRW event? Head to the Events page to add it to the calendar.
Please note: the events on this calendar are not the responsibility of Reconciliation Australia. If you have any questions regarding an event, please contact the organisers.
Join us this Reconciliation Week for a full day workshop to delve into the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander histories & cultures content in the latest version of the Australian Curriculum: Maths This includes the nine rich contexts that weave narratives through the six strands & F-10 year levels. Important connections will be made with relevant items viewed earlier in the Australian Aboriginal Cultures gallery in the South Australian Museum such as projectile technologies (e.g. spear throwers), instructional games & fishing nets & traps. Teachers will receive access to lesson plan examples & background info to support curriculum planning. Local contexts will be explored with the opportunity for planning at the end of the day.
Presenter: Dr Caty Morris, University of Adelaide/ATSIMA Program Manager
This initiative is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education & is part of the Maths in Schools: Teaching & Learning Resources to Support Mathematics
