Reconciliation Australia contributes research, advocacy, and policy and campaign support to better knowledge and understanding of, and action on, reconciliation.
Australian Reconciliation Barometer
Reconciliation Australia undertakes the Australian Reconciliation Barometer survey every two years to measure the attitudes and perceptions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous Australians hold about each other and about the key issues affecting First Nations people.
It is the only national study of the progress of reconciliation in Australia, and is informed by the five dimensions of reconciliation – race relations, equality and equity, historical acceptance, institutional integrity, and unity.
Snapshots of the 2024 data provide a point-in-time understanding of the attitudes and behaviours among different groups of people to paint a clear picture of Australia’s reconciliation journey.
