SUMMARY:Yarning Series: Conversations that connect
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the inaugural Yarning Series at Queensland Museum Tropics in 2026\, where four inspiring First Nations leaders share their powerful stories and journeys. Proudly supported by The University of Queensland. \nKicking things off is Aunty Gail Mabo: On Reconciliation and Legacy\, where she will share powerful insights into her family’s lasting impact on justice and cultural transformation. \nAs the daughter of two visionary leaders – Eddie Koiki Mabo\, whose name is etched in history with the landmark Mabo decision\, and Dr Bonita Mabo\, a champion of social justice – Aunty Gail will discuss how their legacy continues to shape her artistic journey and its ongoing significance for reconciliation in Australia today. \nComplimentary tea and coffee will be available. \nQueensland Museum respectfully advises that this panel discussion may include stories of people who have passed and reference experiences that some audience members may find confronting or distressing.
