A mixed media exhibition of works exploring the artistic journeys of a group of indigenous and non-indigenous women in celebration of Reconciliation Week
May 15 – June 8
Opening Celebration 5:30pm Wednesday May 23
Belconnen Community Gallery, Belconnen Community Centre, Swanson Court, Belconnen
Opening Times: Mon – Fri 9am-5:00pm
This exhibition brings together four women born in this country. Two of us identify as indigenous and we are all artists at different points on our individual journeys. Reconciliation can start with finding something in common to connect with, then seeing differences as something that can enrich our lives as we learn from each other. As shared histories are recognised and built, relationships between people become stronger, no matter where they are from. We hope people are inspired to think about their own journeys and how journeys can connect people and bring new perspectives.
