This role works on facilitating mutually beneficial partnerships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous organisations, within Reconciliation Australia’s Indigenous Governance Program.
- Annual salary: $85,000 – $90,000 plus superannuation (dependent on experience)
- Location: Sydney or Canberra
- Fixed-term contract to 30 June 2025 with possibility of extension depending on funding.

About our Indigenous Governance Program (IGP)
The Indigenous Governance Program supports governance, leadership and self-determination in First Nations-led organisations and communities. With an online network, awards program and partnership opportunities, the Indigenous Governance Program shares stories of success and excellence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations. The program aims to progress reconciliation through recognising, supporting and celebrating strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander governance and self-determination.
The opportunity
This role works on facilitating mutually beneficial partnerships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous organisations, within Reconciliation Australia’s Indigenous Governance Program.
You will:
- Engage, build, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders to create collective impact.
- Broker equitable and sustainable partnerships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous organisations that create transformational change
- Coordinate and/or facilitate meetings, workshops, and event management, both online and in person (with interstate travel required as needed)
- Identification and input for opportunities for program design, expansion, and sustainability
- Manage processes for the internal monitoring, evaluation and learning systems for the program area.

About you
- You have exceptional relationship building skills that enable you to form strong, productive relationships and maintain correspondence with key contacts.
- You can work with a diverse range of people and have previous experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders, combined with your understanding of issues that affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations.
- You have strong experience in managing projects throughout their lifecycle, with a demonstrated experience in brokering end to end partnerships.
- You have the ability to travel to meet with stakeholders, representing both the Program and Reconciliation Australia.
