SUMMARY:The Little Long Walk – a community event
DESCRIPTION:The Little Long Walk is a fun community event inspired by Michael Long’s powerful walk to Canberra in 2004\, which raised awareness and advocated for the rights and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. \nWe will begin with a Welcome to Country\, followed by a short talk from The Long Walk team. Then it’s time for fun cultural activities for kids and families such as banner making and the Marngrook program\, where they will enjoy traditional games\, storytelling\, language\, art\, and learning about tools and artefacts in a fun and engaging way. \nWe will also take a community walk together around Sunvale Community Park\, and finish with a BBQ provided by the Sunshine Lions Club. \nAll welcome.
