DESCRIPTION:This display celebrates the cultural revitalisation initiatives led by Gunggari and Kamilaroi Elder Aunty Jude Hammond on Gubbi Gubbi\, Wakka Wakka\, Butchulla and Jinabara Country in south and north-east Queensland. \nWhat began as a conversation at Nambour train station between Aunty Jude and First Nations youth grew into a powerful movement of cultural (re)connection. \nBetween 2023 and 2026\, Aunty Jude worked with Elders\, artists\, students and schools to create vibrant artworks\, dance\, music and shared cultural spaces. \nThe ceramic sculptures on display here form part of the legacy of one of these projects\, which culminated in the contemporary Songlines exhibition. \nCelebrating cultural pride\, resilience and the strength of First Nations communities\, these initiatives show how small\, respectful gestures and honouring Country can open new pathways for understanding.
