SUMMARY:National Reconciliation Week 2026 Breakfast – Nipaluna/Hobart
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, Reconciliation Tasmania hosts events during National Reconciliation Week that bring people together to reflect\, listen deeply and take meaningful steps towards a more just and respectful future in Lutruwita / Tasmania. \nThe Nipaluna / Hobart National Reconciliation Week Breakfast is the largest event in our statewide program\, welcoming community members\, leaders\, organisations and government representatives to listen\, learn and reflect together. \nOur breakfasts are grounded in truth-telling and truth-listening\, centring Tasmanian Aboriginal voices\, lived experiences and perspectives. Speakers share powerful and deeply personal stories that challenge assumptions\, provoke reflection and inspire meaningful action. \nReconciliation Tasmania works alongside Tasmanian Aboriginal people to advance truth\, justice and a better future through education\, leadership and advocacy across the wider community. These gatherings foster understanding\, strengthen relationships and encourage participants to consider the role they can play in advancing reconciliation in practical and lasting ways.

SUMMARY:Drop in Badge Making for Sorry Day
DESCRIPTION:Drop in to the Koorie Heritage Trust (KHT) on National Sorry Day for a moment of reflection on what this significant day means. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while creating a badge to wear in support of Sorry Day and what it means to you. \nHeld each year on 26 May\, National Sorry Day acknowledges the Stolen Generations – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed from their families and communities between the mid-1800s and the 1980s\, and commemorates the tabling of the Bringing Them Home report in 1997. \nNational Sorry Day is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about and acknowledge the truth of Australia’s Stolen Generations history\, and the ongoing\, intergenerational impacts caused by past policies of forced removal. \nRegistrations are encouraged to assist with catering and materials.
