Welcome to the 2012 Indigenous Governance Awards (IGA). The Awards are about promoting and sharing stories of what works in Indigenous communities and organisations and how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people themselves are driving real change on the ground.

To apply or nominate, select a category

Category A: Outstanding examples of Indigenous governance in Indigenous incorporated organisations

CATEGORY A is open to Indigenous organisations (incorporated under legislation) operating at a community, regional or national level that are Indigenous controlled and that have been in existence since at least January 2009 (three years).

Category B: Outstanding examples of Indigenous governance in a non-incorporated initiative or project

Category B is a new category in 2012. Category B is open to Indigenous projects or initiatives operating at a community, regional or national level that are Indigenous-led and not directly incorporated under legislation.
