Description: The main aims of the events are to:

1.Raise positive and hopeful understanding of Aboriginal target groups and cultivate a constructive stance to pertaining cultural issues within Housing SA
2.Promote AHSC as part of Housing SA; our positive aims and aspirations regarding the start of a truly culturally respectful ‘New World’ -an effective, fitting, inclusive and developing Aboriginal Housing Service Models, information,
Build relationships and bring people together to increase capacity building and a more coordinated integrated service delivery for communities
3.Share information to improve confidence, competencies, outcomes and processes for Housing Staff as well as for Communities
4.Showcase local Aboriginal Community success stories and increase the knowledge of Local Aboriginal Communities

AHSC will host morning teas at six of the Regional South Australian Offices:
with foyer displays about Aboriginality in general, but with a focus on Local Aboriginal Language Groups.

We will invite local Aboriginal people from a range of life spans and backgrounds across the local communities including mentors, role mpdels, elders, authors, human service and business managers, students, graduates and arts or sports people.

Local service providers will also be invited to the events to help bring forward a more integrated, rounded service to local Aboriginal Cmmunities.

A welcome to country will kick-off the events.

In particular a person will be nominated to speak on one or more of the following: their life and achievements, the culture, heritage and history of their region, NAIDOC Week, Sorry Day and Reconciliation and/or their hopes for the future.

We congratulate the organisers and contributors and we send our very best wishes to all participants for a memorable celebration in the spirit of NAIDOC highlighting Aboriginal culture, history, heritage and achievements

Warmest Regards
